Yesterday morning around 10:45, my grandmother, Frances Key, went to be with the Lord. Although we were not expecting it, we do understand that the Lord is sovereign. The following is an excerpt about her along with the details for the viewings and service:
Frances Key, 78, of Stockbridge, GA passed away on Monday, October 4, 2010. She was a cherished wife of fifty-six years and a truly devoted mother and grandmother. Her love of flowers and her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, combined to bless many with her beautiful floral arrangements. She was predeceased by her husband, Woodrow “Woody” Key, and daughter, Diane Key. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell Key, Darwin and Judy Key, Dwain Key, Devin and Lori Key; daughters and sons-in-law, Larry and Debbie Lawrence, Mike and Donna Roderigas, Randy and Detra Maughon; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren (with more on they way), and sisters, Joyce Jones, Florence Jones, Jeanette Steadman and Gail Cornell. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12-2 and 4-7 at A.E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison. The funeral service will be at Victory Baptist Church in Loganville at 3:00 on Thursday with burial to follow at Hillandale Memorial Gardens in Lithonia, GA.
Please continue to pray for my mother and the rest of the family during this time. I wanted to thank in advance the staff, deacons and church members who have already called or emailed condolences and are assisting with supplying our families with meals. Our family is very grateful and appreciative and wanted me to explicitly express that. In addition, Victory Baptist School will be dismissed early on Thursday to allow teachers, parents and/or students to attend the funeral service. A letter should be going out with the children as to the exact time of early dismissal. Again, thanks to all.
